When I was browsing Craigslist this morning, I came across what seemed to be a legitimate job posting, and it was along the lines of what I was looking for, "Receptionist/Admin Assistant", and I was very excited. I emailed them with an introductory paragraph and attached my resume. When I returned from my lunch break, I received an email from someone named "Home Office" in reply to my email, and I was excited.
When I read the email, the grammar was poor, the wording was weird, and the whole email seemed completely OFF. For example, the email address says @concordtechno.com, and the body of the email said The PARTNERS INC. They changed the job title from Administrative Assistant/Receptionist, to "a Administrative Assistants/Data Entry", which is not the same job. The capitalization and spacing, and grammar, are all wrong throughout the email. They require me to "setup a yahoo messenger account" or "Download a yahoo IM"... It says to "add up" Mr Barry James, and "Her email". haha. To me, the whole email reeked of SCAM, but I wanted to see what happened next. The whole email is horrible as I'm sure everyone would agree. Totally unprofessional.
I instant messaged this screenname, without first adding it to my user list. The person was SO OBVIOUSLY not a hiring manager.
