Complaint Review: Congruent Solution Inc.

So let me begin. I went to Freelancer.com to find a company to build me a website. After searching around, I stumbled upon a freelancer that told me that it would be cheaper for me to go outside of freelancer, and so I did. I gave Congruent Solution a FULL website specification with every single detail of what I needed done and we came up with a price of $800 payed in weekly increments of $200.

So 6 days have passed after I made my first payment and NO WORK HAD BEEN DONE. I was later told there was an earthquake in India and nobody was working. Why was I not informed? And INDIA? The freelancer and skype account all said London! So then the next day Congruent Solution sent me a rough view of what the website would look like. (90% of it was ripped off from other website designs.) I told Congruent Solution that the next payment would not be made until the website was up and I could flip through a page or two. This took Congruent Solution two weeks to do. I figured at this point Congruent Solution were good for their word and I payed the second payment.

Comes time for the third payment, yet again I had to ask numerous times for an update before I heard back from Congruent Solution. I was given a website that looked like a complete rip off Google adSense and adBrite.com. I was pissed but Congruent Solution told me that Congruent Solution just copied parts of other websites as "place holders". I also noticed that 90% of the feature they were adding to the website were not asked for, or not what my specification called for. But like an idiot (first time having a website built),  I payed Congruent Solution the third time.

The next and last payment came along and guess what Congruent Solution wanted from me? MORE MONEY! Congruent Solution had the nerve to ask me for more money because my website was more complicated then Congruent Solution thought (HELLO! I gave you a specification for a REASON!) Congruent Solution told me if I made the last payment, they would be able to finish withing the next week or so. I figured I payed so much already, let me just finish this.

Well I'd be damned.

Guess who stopped responding the next day? Guess who took down the website! I was steaming and furious! $800 down the drain! Since all the payments were made through PayPal I filed a claim, but to no avail. Since it wasn't a physical good, PayPal couldn't help me. So Congruent Solution got away with fraud and theft. And I was left with an $800 hole burning through my wallet.
