Conner Hopkins 1999 Lund Explorer on Craigslist Internet
I found a boat for sale on Craigslist that seemed to good to be true. I emaled the person who then replied with this:
Hi again,
As i told you, at this moment I am in WA state in a military base, getting ready for Afghanistan (I hope for the last time). I do a special training program everyday day and I am not allowed to get out of the unit or make calls whenever I want. The shipping will take 3 to 5 days depending on your location. As long as I'm dealing with Autotrader and they can ship the boat anywhere in the US,I listed the boat in several states because it increases my chances to get it sold much faster. .Because it is a large transaction, we will complete the deal only using an authorized third part like Autotrader because I already prearranged the whole process with them, using their escrow Safe Pay Program for boats not listed on their website. The boat is located in the Autotrader warehouse in San Antonio,TX (ready for delivery). I asked them to allow viewers to go there and inspect the boat but their reply was "We are not a showroom!" In this case, I will offer a 5-day period to inspect the boat from the moment you receive it, before I'll have your money. I think this is more than fair for both of us.The payment will be handled by Autotrader , and you will benefit of 5 days inspection time period (test drive) and the option to accept or reject the boat on my expense. If you are still interested just send me your full name and shipping address. I will forward your info to Autotrader and they will notify you about our deal. Like this you'll be able to talk directly with them and ask all you want to know.
Thank you!Connor
The truely sickening thing about this is that they are pretending to be a deploying soldier. I am very cautious about these things and didn't send any banking information or checks. I will retract this if the boat shows up at my residence and will pay in full, but that is unlikely.

It is a scam, do not be fooled. I been scouring Craigslist for a new car but i saw the same listing for a 2009 Honda Civic E-XL in 2 different areas in NJ. I sent a email and i got a reply from him saying he is getting deployed on July 5th and that the car is in PIttsburgh PA. he wants first payment of 2700 than the rest when inspected and received. One thing i learned from Craigslist is ignore people who ship cars and want split payments. No way a person is selling a Civic with 16,400 for 9000. Thats just ludicrous. Stay away. If you see Ronald4ip@gmail.com, than just hit that back button and look some where else.

AutoTrader does not provide shipping, warehousing or escrow services.
