Complaint Review: Conseco Finance

Conseco Finance ripoff consumer fraud Atlanta Georgia

We financed a modular home with Green Tree d/b/a Conseco Finance in August 1997. We found out within months that they had changed the months of our mortgage from 20 years to 25 years. We have tried to no avail to remedy this situation. This has involved an attorney, Conseco and the establishment that sold us our home. As stated in the previous complaint, they are impossible to deal with.

They will not admit that they made a mistake, nor will they correct it. As most people know by now, they have filed for bankruptcy. Where does that leave anyone who has a mortgage with them? We have contacted Conseco, but have not been answered.

They told me that the insurance and taxes would be included in the house payment, which were not.
They also knew that I recently had a heart attack and would always call me telling me about all the debt I was in and that they would get me out of it.

Your Loan ..many legal ramifications

Just a note, a lender can not change a loan from 20 to 25 years unless you refinanced the loan to a longer term. Perhaps you refinanced the loan and weren't paying attention to how long you signed the note for. If they changed the loan from 20 to 25 years, your monthly payment would have gone down. Did that happen? Check your original paperwork. If they did what you say they did (and I don't think they did), there are many legal ramifications that can happen to them. Check your paperwork. I'm sure somewhere along the line your refinanced.

Best of luck.
