In March 2001, shortly after Green Tree Mortgage shipped my account to Conseco, I stopped recieving mail from them. No payment notices, tax information, reminders, nothing. When I complained they said the post office returned my mail as "undeliverable." This is patently false. Nothing changed in years. When I try making payments without a coupon or envelope they provide, the payment gets seriously delayed or misapplied. Brand that - late fees and conpound interest.

I have to call them every single month about the time the payment notice fails to come and ask they fax a payment coupon. I sent six letters and logged over 24 phone calls in this period, getting bounced back and forth to Tempe, Rapid City and Palatine. No one gives last names, telephone extensions or makes return calls apparently at Conseco. I spoke to 8 supervisors. The problem never got fixed.

Since last October I have sent six registered letters pleading with them to talk to me and solve the mailing problem. Bill Bom signs for these letters, but never do I get a call back or response. Only the usual collections calls durring the grace period, home and at work. PS - I am keeping current! The collections people sympathize but can't help. Does not banking consumer law require they respond to a written complaint within 30 days?

All I want now from them is a coupon payment book and several late fees waived ($287.), but they will not even speak to me and my phone calls and registered letters remain ignored. Oh - and this month I got my first piece of mail from them in 2 1/2 years - a payment coupon! No explanation. This is a horrible company to deal with.
