Bought a home from a dealer who told us that the "mortgage" company was Greentree. Okay. Whatever. Went to sign the papers for the home after we had made the $4000.00 down payment and after they "presented" us with a $2000.00 "bonus" check that we were to cash and rewrite it back to them. Still nothing clicked in my brain. Went to sign papers and lo and behold, they was a "step-rider" in our contract.

We questioned this step-rider and why it would be 9.5 and within 3 years go to 13.5. Oh, thats how we handle our loans, but you will have equity built up. Oh, how dumb.

Anyhow, we moved to another state and was unable to move the home because, one- it would cost 18,000 and two, in Georgia the codes were totally diffent than those in Indiana.

We continued to pay not only on our home but the lot rent for this home. Finally after, 8 months of this, it was becoming too much for us. We sent letters asking if Conseco could sell the home for us, yes, we were told, but we had to "sign the home over to them".

Mistake one we did sign the home over, actually we allowed them to repossess our home. However, we were told that we would owe them nothing more.

That occurred in January 2002. In July of 2002 we received a telephone call which started out, "You owe us 20,000.00, how do you intent to pay". We had no idea what this man was talking about. After he "vaguely" explained the circumstances, we asked for documentation.

Well, 7 months later, a lawyer intervening to stop the calls, us sending what we can on the 20,000.00, listening to threats of garnishing wages, freezing accounts, they started again.

With all these complaints against this company isn't there a legal team that could listen to the complaints and at least let someone know why they are allowed to continually harass people even when they are trying to repay what is supposedly left on the loan after it was sold?

Why are they now calling themselves "Calvry" Collections, formerly known as Conseco and thinking people will freely talk to them. The hateful phone messages left on my answering machine are still there, all 76 of them. It is not that I do not wish to return their call, however, I do not have time for someone who is patronizing, condenscending and plain without professional ethics. Where do they find these people.

Thank you for allowing me vent and misspell many words.
