We own food vending carts, specifically hot dog carts and we were interested in being placed in front of Home Depot locations. My husband did some research online and ran across Bill Van Horn and www.concessioncorp.com and made contact. We then decided to meet Bill Van Horn, give him 5000.00 in cash, pick up a NEW hot dog cart, sign a contract and get our Home Depot location that we had been assured that we would get. The contract also put us on the hook for another 15,000.00.


The cart was used and damaged. The umbrella was broken and when we turned it on, it smoked. Bill Van Horn assured us that he would meet us in Houston the next week to make sure the necessary repairs were made to the cart and to help us get the necessary permits for the cart. We already owned other carts and knew the process. We never saw Bill Van Horn again.


We went to the designated Home Depot and were asked to leave because we didn't have the rights to be there as Bill Van Horn and our contract had promised. The cart is worth about 2000.00. I called repeatedly in order to find out what the deal was and to cancel this contract and get our money back. I tried to cancel the contract within 3 days and we were told that he would "forgive" the 15,000.00 and my husband being hopeful let it go. I continued to call Bill Van Horn and get the run around. I sent emails and called repeatedly.


This is the last contact we had from him:


1.) Read your contract ...we are in process of contract compliance.

2.) You are not in contract compliance.

3.) Our very powerful Law Firm will file slander and defamation

      of character lawsuits against you and your wife. If we win in the

      courts we will file judgements against you and inforce liens on

      you, your wife and your property.

4.)  We can no longer communicate on this issue untill we have settled all legal matters with our contract dispute. (Per counsel)

5.) With a little patience this could have been great for both of our

      companies.

We never got our money back and have not heard from him since. This email was received on 12/5/2009. We signed our contract on 10/24/2009. I love the part about how they are IN PROCESS. This entire thing is a rip-off because the company that you have to go through to get a Home Depot location is Street Eats and you can't use a third party like Concession Corporation of America. We were never out of contract compliance expect for asking for our money back. The location was a fraud. The entire deal was a fraud.
