Complaint Review: Consoildated Media Services

One day in March I was playing around on GroupLotto's website. I supposely won some prizes. One of the selection of prizes I could choose from was free magazines. I started filling out the form until it got to the part where they wanted your credit card. I don't have a credit card for one thing and I realized then that it was not really free, so I back out of the website.

A few days later I started recieving telemarker calls. One company, CMS, told me that I had already signed up for the magazines and since they go ahead and pay the magzines companies (some deal they have) I was in debt to them for these magzines. They also told me that since it had been longer than three days then I could no longer back out the deal. I told them that First I did not want the magazines and Second I do not have a credit card. They insisted that my debit card could be used as a credit card. I gave them the information to finally get them off my back, since they repeatly told I was bound by our "agreement".

The only thing nice I can say about the company is that they called me to let me know that other companies who might be calling me saying they were calling for CMS was not them. (International Magazine Company, Reader Service, etc.) and not to give them any information but to take their names and phone numbers and call CMS with that information.

Still it has been four months and I am not receiving all the magazines I didn't want in the first place.
