Consolidated Media Resources ripoff consumer fraud ripoff Symrna Georgia
I was contacted byt yhis company and a very nice, polite women Named I belive it was Ticia told me I could be entered in a sweepstatkes and get a free ladys diamond watch. I'd get 3 magazines once a month plus Rolling Stone once a week. For a bonus I could get a 5th magazine free. I'd pay 49.99 a month for 12 months and owe nothing at all for the reamining 4yrs. This sounded like a good deal, and I read a lot(books and magazines) so I gave my info. BIg stupid mistake I know. I am usually adamant about not giving cc info on the phone but.. what can I say my brain was on vaction that day. I was also offered a trial basis on a presciption drug/insurance type program and some sort of coupons booklet deal for groceries.
I recived my info on the magazines within a couple days(which i've noticed is rare) and I sent it right back(without signing) citign the 10 days cancelleation notice. I also contacted the head of the company and he just e-mailed me givingme the 800 numbers to cancel the prescription plan I had been enrolled in, and telling me since i'd canceleld beofre the 10 days I woudl be refuned the 49.99 on my card and not charged any more.
So now I have to look over my statements very carefully to make sure I'm not recharged or havent been lied to like so many ohters seem to have been. I am printing out some reports on this company and info from various fraud sites and am all ready if I need to dispute any charges on my card.
The head of the CO also went on to say how they are not fradulent and have a good rating with Beter business bureau(yeah cause they paid for it) and have so many satisfied customers blah blah blah... all I know is they wont get a cent from me and had better not ever call me again.
