For two years I have been receiving collection notices and phone calls regarding a fraudulant account. When I tried to call the phone number on the bills, it is either busy or when I finally get through, I get hung up on in the middle of the conversation.

These people claim that they have a recorded phone conversation of me placing an order with them, which I do not recall. Of course, they have not come up with these so called recorded calls either. They are sending me a bill for $292.50 saying that I ordered two magazines. I have never received a magazine from them, as a matter of fact, I don't receive any magazine subscriptions at all. I just don't subscribe to anything.

When I finally get through to these people they are rude and very uncooperative. Not to mention the hanging up on me again.

They say that I promised them to pay for these two magazines, which is outrageous, because I would never pay almost $300 for any magazine no matter how long the subscription was for.

I contacted these people over a year ago when they sent me a bill out of nowhere and even sent them proof that I could not have made the purchase, because on the date they say I made it, I was in the hospital having surgery.

If anybody reads this and knows what I can do to get rid of these annoying letters and threats to put this on my credit report, please let me know. I will check back often to see if anyone has come up with anything.

Send the following e-mail to the president of the company (chrust@cmsmags.com):

Dear Mr.Hurst, I have the following problem (detailed description of your case)...

According the BBB you are always ready to help.
"The Better Business Bureau has obtained an agreement from the company that it will make a full refund to any consumer who registers a justified complaint with the Better Business Bureau even if it is after the expiration of the consumer's right to cancel. The company has also stated that customers can call and speak to Clay Hurst in their office at 1-800-527-4392 or e-mail him at churst@cmsmags.com for resolution before filing a complaint with our office."

In case I do not get response from you I am ready to send my complain to BBB, to GA Attorney General, to FTC, the National Fraud Information Center and the United Postal Service Inspector.

Thanks for your help. Sincerely:
