CMS had been calling my dorm room several times asking if I would like to subscribe to four magazines for one year. The catch was that it would only be $66 for twelve months, breaking it into twelve payments over one year. My bank account had become overdrawn because CMS started taking out large sums of money from my account that I no longer had, which left me with a statement of -$54. After overdrawing, the bank made me pay another $30 in an overdrawn fee.

I had taken care of this, and had money in my account again. On Wed. 1/22 I took out $40 and my receipt stated there was $69 left. Two days later I went to take out money and my receipt said my account was -$249. All taken from CMS.

They clearly told me at least three times that it would come out to $66 for one year. I would not have agreed to four years and hundreds of dollars worth of magazines. They were misleading, deceiving, and I would like my money back!

sending $66 worth of magazines & refunding my account with the extra $249

I wrote in two days ago about CMS taking almost $300 from me without my consent. ($66 the first time, $249 the second time). After contacting the company and telling them I misunderstood their representatives thinking I would only be billed $66 for one year, they will now only be sending me $66 worth of magazines and refunding my account with the extra $249.

The reason they took all of the money out at once is because they had called me on 1/23 and explained to me that if I paid in full (which I STILL thought was only $66) that I would get a $25 discount on the full price.

Not knowing how expensive these freakin magazines really ARE, I agreed. The representative I spoke to didn't give the full amount on the phone of course, because this is the shadiest company I've ever heard of.

After speaking to someone from CMS this morning, I will be getting all the money they took out credited to my account within 30 days and will never have contact with them again.
Good luck to everyone else out there and try the same thing I did.
