Consolidated Travel Rip-Off (Bogus cruise)
I went through the internet and came across a cruise to the Bahamas on the Cape Canaveral Cruise Line. When I entered into the web site, it forwarded me to a travel agency called Consolidated Travel.
The company processed my trip and ordered my airline tickets. I spoke with the travel agent all the time. Either she phoned me or I phoned her. I even called Cape Canaveral Cruise Line to ensure there were reservations made in my name.
The travel agent sent me forms having me to sign them and send $10 to have the tickets sent back to me Express Mail. She told me I would receive my tickets in January, 2000 and my trip was scheduled for February, 2000. When I tried to phone the company, Saturday January 8th, the phone number was disconnected (954-724-2055). Worried, I called the airlines (US Air) and they confirmed that I had 2 paid tickets for my flight. I then called Cape Canaveral Cruises, and they informed me that my reservations were cancelled Dec 8, 1999 and the trip was never paid for.
I sent a money order in the amount of $425 and $10, to finish paying for my trip November 25, 1999. I also paid for transportation (shuttles) that were suppose to pick my husband and I up at the airport and take us to the cruise and back. I also paid for 1 night stay at the Econolodge in Florida because we were going to go to Disney for 1 night before returning home.
As you guess, the Econolodge also had no reservation made for us. I would appreciate anything you could do to help me, and get back at them. I spent all the money I had and it is so unfair that you are unable to trust anyone.
