Our company was called in on a job in Port Arthur Texas.  We went in and worked for a large contractor and did what he asked.  We were to run our billing through John Radford with Construction cleaners.  This was to save time and effort on the large contractor from drawing up contracts and getting lawyers involved.

We completed the job and sent in a bill to be paid.  After a month we called John Radford and asked if he had a check yet.  He stated it was going out tomorrow (wednesday) because he had several others to mail.

We waited a week for the check.  On thursday the following week we called back John and he stated he forgot and the check was going out that Friday.

We waited over another week.  We called and sent several emails and we could not get a response from any one.  I sent an email stating we were going to call the main contractor if he did not call us or return an email.  He did not and we called the main contractor.

The company man talked to John Radford and John told him the check had already been mailed.

On Monday afternoon I got the check in.  Great, then I noticed he post dated the check for two weeks later and wrote on the check, Hold To, and the date.

I took the check to my bank the next day to ask what they could do about it and they would not even take the check because he wrote the check on a Canadian Bank.  I could give it to the bank and then wait about 4 weeks to see if the check was going to clear.

If you are a business in the united states, then why draw on a canadian bank?  Why not just pay your bill, we are not talking about thousands of dollars here.  The bill was under 1000.00, just pay it and every one will be happy.
