As a contractor we were looking for new leads for work in 2008. So in May of 2008 we subscribed to 1 year of unlimited leads at www.constructiondeal.com. They did a good job of sending us leads, even though all leads were somewhat not verified, or not serious about performing the work, consequently we did not pick up one job with their service, (however that is a risk you take).

The main issue is early December I get a $69.00 charge on my credit card from constructiondeal.com as well as a notice saying that all leads are going to stop since I do not have sufficient funds for said leads.

I emailed constructiondeal.com, and they said that they changed their policy in December. I told them that is great, however we have a contract for UNLIMITED leads for 1 year (up to May 2009), they did not care. They only said that their program of unlimited leads was canceled effective immediately, and that I am now on a paid lead status, they only thing they would do is, cancel my account and send me $5, even though I asked for a refund of half my $359.40 (I have 5 months of unlimited leads left), they said no. I told them that is fine, refund the $5, as well as $69.00. It is not worth fighting for $150.00.

I feel that when you buy a unlimited lead contract with someone, that they should honor that contract, or give you the option to cancel the service, with a refund of the rest of the money, however constructiondeal.com did not do this.

All I want is contractors, and homeowners to beware of this company, they are about as shady has they come. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! I would not.

False allegations

#2UPDATE Employee

Mon, January 05, 2009

Greetings Ripoff Report Users,

This allegation is totally false. We understand contractors need to receive quality leads. ConstructionDeal.com offers a guarantee that all leads we deliver will be valid. We back up that guarantee with a credit towards a future lead on any lead that a contractor is unable to make a bid on.

NC in Rancho Cordova is correct about a plan change. ConstructionDeal.com did convert his account in November of 2008 after email notices had been sent out. In addition to emails before the conversion, ConstructionDeal.com sent an email on the date of conversion. Customers that did not agree to use the new service had 30 days to receive a complete prorated refund. This customer did not exercise the refund option so we prorated the credit amount and applied it towards new leads.

NC in Rancho Cordova was charged $69.00 under the new plan structure and was refunded that amount upon his/her request.

ConstructionDeal.com strives to offer the best service in the industry. We have been doing business for 5 years and in that time we have had no complaints on Ripoff Report and have an excellent rating with the Better Business Bureau. We stand by our contractors and do everything possible to assist them.

The allegation that ConstructionDeal.com is a fraud is totally bogus and has absolutely no basis. We have thousands of satisfied contractors around the country. We have never defrauded or cheated any customer and it is unfortunate this customer has chosen this medium to vent his/her un-satisfaction.

ConstructionDeal.com takes its reputation very seriously and we are available to answer any questions at 866-663-4711 or we can be reached by email at support@constructiondeal.com.

Kindest Regards,

The ConstructionDeal.com Team
