We purchased a pool table over three years ago from Rec Warehouse in Virginia Beach, Va and were given a Consumer Cash Reward Certificate in the amount of $1000.00. Being very good with details, I jumped through all the hoops this year and mailed in all the necessary paperwork to claim my rebate.

After several weeks I received a post card reply on January 18 that said that my claim/paperwork had been received and that my claim was valid. It indicated that it would be about 60 days for the check to be issued-I was given a password to check on the progress of the claim which I have been doing regularly.

Until recently, the website said that my portion of the claim was about $235 and a check would be mailed sometime in May. However, if you go on the website now, it tells you that there is no information available.
Yesterday I spoke with a friend who had purchased a hot tub from the same retailer and she said that she had received a letter from an attorney and said that Consumer Rewards was filing for bankruptcy and that he was heading up a class action suit. She agreed to be a part of it and filled out all the necessary paperwork and apparently has received a check.

I have never been contacted by mail/phone from any attorney regarding an upcoming lawsuit or any paper work regarding bankruptcy. You cannot contact these people on the phone and the local retailer is not helpful either. So, I am wondering what you can find out for me about this scam. Thanks, Becky
