Consumer Credit Services Inc non notification and unauthorization of billing fee outlandish ripoff Las Vegas Nevada
On September 3, 2002 I received a letter from CCS stating that I was welcome to another year of their great savings. The letter dated August 28, 2002 said that for my convience I will be billed the annual fee (to my checking account) on September 1, 2002. The letter also stated that if I wanted to discontinue service and therefore not be automatically renewed I should call their customer service number.
When I did this I was told it was too late, I'd been charged and the fee was non-refundable. I explained to them that they only mailed me the letter three days before they were to charge me, and if I had gotten the letter in a timely manner I would have called before they could assess a charge. I was basically told it was too late but I could get a $100 credit if I order something over $200 from their catalog.
Now their catalog has nothing but junk in it. They claim to possess a catalog with over 5000 items. That's not the catalog I received. This is why I had not ordered anything from them the entire first year I was with them, and why I didn't want to renew. I had already lost out on the initial $200 fee because I didn't buy anything within 60 days. I didn't want to throw anymore money down the drain.
I was charged an annual fee of $99.00 for membership I no longer wanted. I have spoken to several people and still not received satisfaction. The customer services reps state only someone in their Quality Control Division could help me. However, these people didn't have a number I could call them at neither could I be transferred to them. I just had to wait until one of them calls me.
These people take your money and give nothing in return. When you complain and demand a refund, they just ignore you.
