Consumer Direct Warranty Services Denied claim on covered item after purchase of Extended Warranty. Company out of Business now also. Las Vegas, Nevada
I purchased an extended warranty from Consumer Direct Warranty Services on Oct.17 2008 for the amount of $2,465, the DirectChoice plan, top of the line, and also financed through Mepco Financial Corp. I filed a claim on May 26 2010 when my air conditioning went out. My local repair shop faxed the needed repairs to CDWS and the repair was denied Exclusion-worn/burnt/not broken was the reason and also a non-covered condition under my program agreement. I called the CDWS rep and told me no again and stated NOT BROKEN. I told her that according to my contract that the compressor, condenser, evaporator and orifice tube were all covered under what I read, again the rep said no. I told the rep all that I wanted is what I paid for. I finally just let it go.
In Jan. 2010 my fuel pump went out and as I was being towed to my local repair shop I called CDWS since all I had on me was the claim card and was unsure if this condition was covered, but the contact number was out of service. When I arrived home I was able to check my warranty booklet with additional contact numbers, ALL the numbers I tried were also out of service. I then went online to see if I could get contact and what I found was pages and pages of complaints for both CDWS and Mepco Financial Corp...I now knew I had been ripped off.

I to have been ripped off by CDWS (Consumer Direct Warranty Services). I purchased a car warranty from them in 1/7/2009 and my car is still under warranty for repairs that I need to my 2007 Chrysler 300, so please add me to your list to get ANY solutions (repaired, another 100% horoned warranty, 100% refund) to this unfair treatment we DO NOT deserve.

To anyone out there who has had anything to do with CDWS or consumer direct warranty services: This place is a total ripoff, File your complaint with the BBB IMMEDIATELY, I work for a company that quit selling their policies bc they are a joke and we refused to be a part of that.
For our customers who still hold their policies we are helping them get a new policy with an A+ rated company that doesnt deny claims "just because". So please file if you haven't already and lets nail these bastards to the wall! No one should be treated this way.
