I originally bought 2 warranties on two different vehicles (2/27/09). gave my credit card for $495 down payment for each vehicle. The following day i canceled the one vehicle. After several requests and my credit card company requests, to this day i have not received my $495 back. Several promises no refund. This is one complaint and rip off.
The 2nd complaint is when i wanted to put in a claim due to transmission failure.I took the vehicle to a Landrover dealer ( 2005 RangeRover). Normally they would just swap out the transmission and put a rebuilt on in . CDWS requires a complete tear down which I am charged up front. Then a representative from CDWS inspects the parts worn, and if there are any burned parts they will not cover the claim. Well transmissions break down because of burned parts. This is a sealed transmission no way of checking the fluid. Bottom line they would not cover the repair. It cost me $5500 for a rebuilt and installed transmission. Also they do not cover sensors of any kind. Air Leveling function breakdown of the vehicle. These malfunctions were also brought to my attention when i brought the vehicle in for repair.
In reviewing the coverage. By the way, was first sent to me after the $495 was paid. There should be an inspection of the coverage before transacting this product. Just like an insurance policy. The FTC should get involved in this. "TRANSMISSION" -"all internal components of the transmission that require lubrication for operation. Torque converter, vacuum modulator shift control unit, transmission case, and oil pan are covered only if damaged by failure of an internally lubricated transmission Covered Componet and condition."
I have requested a refund of all my money I spent on this warranty, $495 plus 8 payments of $155.56. Needless to say this has fallen on deaf ears.

The BBB currently has an on going lawsuit against CDWS, File a complaint and you may receive that money back, I work for a company that chose yrs ago to quit selling CDWS policies bc the were rude, non-responsive and screwed their customers over. We are letting these people know they need to file with the BBB.
As horrible as this company is all you can do is jump on the BBB bandwagon and hope that they get them. Good Luck!!!
