I was contacted by a Consumer Electronics Technolgy representitive congratulating me on being 1 of 20 randomly selected people in my area code to win a Gateway computer, digital camera, cell phone with free activation, a trip to go somewhere with hotel and acommadations paid, and free satelite dish with receiver.

I asked for the gentleman's named and he told me it was Josh Owen. He told me that Consumer Electronics Technology was just like the magazine Electronics Consumer and in order to receive all this great stuff that my wife and I had wanted for so long, I just had to pay $284.90 to cover for taxes on a product I hadn't bought or recivied(that should of gave me a hint), and also for shipping and handling. I then proceeded to give him my check account info.

After giving up my personal info I was then transfered to another representative to verify my the information I had given.

I was told that I would have to listen to recording that would finish up the process. The recording started to tell me all the great gifts that I would be receiving already plus $500.00 in free grocerys, $1000.00 in free online shopping, free magazine subscriptions, and a lot of other stuff I couldn't remember. In addition I would receive a free 10 trial of long distance service through Uni Source, and if I didn't cancel within 10 days I would automatically be debited $39.99 for their service, I received a verification I.D. # and the transaction was completed.

I had obtained the Consumer Electronics Technology customer service # (888)-577-4432. When I had tried to call back immediatley after I got hung up on, a recording came on saying call back during business hours and thats it, no info or anything. Therefore I tried calling the number showed on my caller ID, (310)-356-7055, and a recording came on saying that the nextel customer you are trying to contact is unavailable, today I tried calling both these numbers and they are no longer in service.

I needed answers and I couldn't get any, so I called Uni Source (888)856-8262 to try to find what the hell is going on and I get a recording, after 10mins of waiting, that all the representatives are busy and that you can leave a message or you can go online to www.uni-sourceonline.com or www.caliprap.com to access your account, but these online addresses do not exist.

Therefore I closed my checking account before I got charged. If you get charged, you must report in to your bank or credit card institution I was told within 10days or you will be stuck with the charges. Don't let this happen to you like it happened to me.
