I received and official looking letter bordered in green and gold stating that I was pre-approved for a $5,000 line of credit at 0% APR for twelve months.

My husband and I found this to be most suspicious because there were no names of credit providers eg. names of banks or lenders that would provide this credit. There were no agreement terms or credit application. Even with pre-approved legitimate Credit Cards we received, we had to fill out applications, receive terms of agreements, the name of the credit provider, and the annual fee would be taken off our first month's bill.

This letter looked far too phony and too good to be true, therefore, we investigated online under First Consumer and found this website, and are extremely grateful. We would not have sent our money to anyone we did not investigate thoroughly, but wanted to warn others who might find this official looking letter to be true. IT IS NOT. BEWARE.
