I just received an offer of a "Platinum Card" from this company, too. Having nearly been ripped off some years ago by a sweepstakes scam, I looked it over carefully. What made the red flag go up for me, believe it or not, was the lack of fine print. Never have I received any credit card offer without there being at least one page of 8-point print outlining fees, dues, etc.
So I searched the Net and found this site, and the rest is history. I'm just very thankful that you guys are around--I'm a student, and $45.00 would put a dent into what I laughingly call my "finances."
