I recieved an offer in the mail for a Consumer First credit card, the way the offer read it was a major credit card. The offer was for a platinum card with a 5000 dollar limit. There was a 49 dollar processing fee to activate the card, I paid the fee, applied for the card and 10 weeks later recieved the card. It isn't a major credit card or any other kind of credit card either for that matter. It is a card to buy their products from their catalog and you can only buy their products after paying a 35% down payment.

The card took so long in arriving we called the customer service dept. numerous times to find out what was going on and was told that it took up to 6 to 8 weeks (after the check cleared) to recieve the card. We asked on at least 3 of the calls if the card was a legitimate credit card and was assured it was. The card is only good if used to buy products from their catalog or their website, and isn't a credit card at all as anyone that want can use it. This company is at the very least dishonest, and probably breaking several different laws also.
