Consumer First should be called Consume the customer's pocket book! Rip-off Tampa Florida
I received the same letter that many others did. It stated, Congratulations, you are GUARANTEED approval for a consumer first platinum card with a credit line of $5,000.00. We have already reserved a card for your name. Right there I should have known--for your name--that doesn't make sense.
Whoever is ripping these people off should take that money and enroll in some English courses. I can't believe I was scammed. I didn't think anything of it, but my mom saw the red flags. I just sent my payment last Friday 2/21/03-- and Consumer First cashed my check on 3/25/03, I thought that was fast and odd alone. I wish I would have seen this website and all the complaints before I was scammed.
I am a single mom with two kids, it is pretty sad that humans have to go around stealing money from innocent people. This company will definitely get it in the end. I believe that what comes around, goes around. I am in the process of contacting my local news station, where they investigate companies like these. I will get to the bottom of this. It isn't so much about getting my $45 back, I want the people responsible for this scam to pay and pay big!!!!! So Consumer First--you better watch out!

Recently, I OPTED-OUT with the Credit Reporting Companies so that junk applications will no longer be mailed to me. So far, I have received 3 pre-approved applications in the last two months. (I regularly received one per day).
This, however, cannot get your money back, but it has decreased my "junk mail" by about 95%.
