I, too, received an offer for an unsecured platinum card with a $5000 limit. I sent a $49 check on 02/08/03 for rush service. The check cleared my account on 02/13/03. As of today still no card. Now that's some rush service.

I called 800.621.4905 - a number that I found on this website -
which is actually the number for First Consumer Financial in Champlain, N.Y. This is NOT the company that is sending out offers like the one I received.

I just got off the phone with a woman in Customer Service at Consumer First (813.879.4752) who verified my information and said, "There's a 14 day hold on all personal checks. Rush service takes 2-3 weeks. Your packet will be mailed today."

We'll see if I receive it anytime soon. I'll keep you posted. I've definitely learned my lesson.
