Consumer Health Benefits Association Misrepresentation of product. Coached me what to say on the recorded CC verification Coconut Creek Florida
I was contacted on the phone by an individual from Consumers Health/Guaranteed Trust Life AKA Consumer Health Benefits Association. The represenetatives name was Stephanie at 877 215-2071 X335. She described her benefits program as an insurance plan that we could use "...at any doctor in any place in the world..." She described our out of pocket expense at a 80%-20% ratio. She informed me that I had to accept the plan on the phone after I asked to see the plan's benefits in writing. I was very concerned about the validity of the program but she had called my wife before and I assumed (wrongfully) that my wife had somehow pre-screened her. For that I kept listening.
Anyway, Stephanie spent a lot of time coaching me as to what to say when the recorded credit card authorization would take place. She told me that I have to say that I know I'm not buying an insurance plan "Just so the charge would go through" After the call was finished and my card charged I had the time to research what she was claiming. Once I found out I was apparently scammed I took action by calling my credit card to dispute the charge as fraudlent. I also had my credit card change my account number so the reoccuring charges could not happen. Additionally I called, faxed and sent a hard copy of my "Notice of Cancellation" to the company to cover any legal cancellation requirements that might or might not be required under law.
