Complaint Review: Consumer Health Benefits

I was call on Sat July 30th 2005 by a Robert Alexander of Consumer Health Benefits (CHB). He told me that this company offer the same type of insurance that all the major corporations offered to their employees he mention Ford, EDS, J.C Penny's. He stated that all pre-existing conditions were accepted. He also told me that I should receive an email from the company within minutes after I had applied.

After I gave him the card information I was to call the membership number and get my policy number. I called immediately after the conversation and there was no answer and I have yet to receive an email from this company. I was told that this was a PPO plan and I asked repeatedly if this policy was not a discount plan. I was told each time that this was a PPO plan and not a discount plan. I was to receive a packet in the mail soon. Mr. Alexander told me that this plan was underwritten Guaranty Trust life and this dictates the difference between a benefit plan and a discount plan. I have yet to get anyone to answer the phone number that I was given. The next day I decided to look up the information on the Internet and I found out that there was other consumer out there that was taken in by this scam. A class action law suite should be imminent for scam like this.
