Consumer Info Credit Monitoring Service ripoff I have never received the free credit report and was billed nearly $80.00 as a membership fee. Orange California
I became aware of this service through a website that offered a free DVD... earn a number of points by signing up with Columbia House DVD program and ask for a free credit report with this Consumer Information Credit Monitoring Service and you receive a free DVD.
After signing up with Columbia House, I went to the CIC Monitoring Service web site and input information to request my free credit report. The information they required included the typical name, address, etc. as well as credit card information. I entered the information thinking it was needed for the free credit report. I have never received the free credit report and was billed nearly $80.00 as a membership fee.
I only requested the free credit report. I never asked to be a member. I was never told I would be billed/charged any fee. I never approved any charges to my credit card. I was never notified of any charges via the website or email notification. I only learned of the charges after reviewing my credit card statement.
