To al who have complained about Consumer Portfolio Services, CPS, I am in complete agreement.  I had my loan since December 2006 with them and after paying for 6 years was told I owed over $800 in fees.  I asked for a complete print out of my loan so I could see.  Admittedly I had some late fees in there but even by their own calculations and because of the many number of overpayments I made to counteract the late fees there was no possible way I owed that much - even by their own calculations.

I called CPS which they said they would review the account.  They sent me a letter back saying everything was correct and I still owed $800+ in fees.  I sent a refute and was met with the same information.  I then sent a complaint to the BBB.  Things started changing after this and the butt-chewing I made about everything I've been through with this company (this was just the icing on the cake - several years of torture)!

After they received my complaint registered with the BBB, I finally received justice and a letter in the mail stating that they would waive all of the fees and my title would be sent within 45 days.  I was leery and didn't think I would get it but I did - in less than 45 days!

I would suggest to all of you going through the same heartache to try to get a detailed copy of your account, fight it using their forms on the website.  If that doesn't work then post on BBB.  Their rating will be so poor eventually that hopefully they will be run out of business.  I hate people to lose their jobs but all of these representatives are so rude and unprofessional and clearly scam artists that I'd still be able to sleep if they all lost their jobs.
