Read a advertising card saying that I would get a years worth of CR magazines plus two reference books - one titled how to clean absolutely everything. I thought for $26.00 this was a good deal. I had no reason to think that they wouln't deliver. Well they sent me the bill before I got any magazines. That concerned me. Thank god I didn't pay with a card. The books Never showed up. That was two months ago. I log into their website today and find that because I ordered the magazine too early I can't have the online CR for free - anyone that buys the magazine subscription now gets the online for free - before it was another $25.00!

I canceled my subscription and the automatic email said that I would be getting $16.00 Back!!!!! So I paid $10.00 for the ONE magazine that I DID get.

I wouldn't trust their advice as far as I could throw them!

Don't trust Consumer Reports

We have been charged year after year for their online subscription, even though we called to cancel it three years ago!  I have never been so mad at a company!  I called them today and they said there was no record that we called and they cannot credit us for the years past.  How can they do this?  We don't use the yahoo address they say we have and we don't even live at the address that is on file- we moved in 2008!  This is just ridiculous!  I will never use consumer reports again!

I'm sure that you can straighten this out with CR.  They are a very reputable organization.  Contact them again.

For ecological reasons, I would suggest that you subscribe to the “on-line” version of the magazine - only.

I have been an “on-line” subscriber for years – before that, I used to receive the paper version.
