I received in the mail today 3/14/08 a check from Consumer Research Company, A member of American Survey Research Org. for the amount of $3699.50. I know that this is a real bad joke but I am sure a lot of people fall for it, this check is worth nothing, it is fake. I deal with Mystery Shopping companies everyday, it is part of my real job. These people have taken a good thing and are trying to turn it bad. I do wish someone could stop them. There are hundreds of real mystery shopping companies out there that pay real money for real work. I have a list that is about 200 pages long of real outfits and this company is not one of them.

Real Mystery Shopping companies do not make you pay them to work. Never pay a fee to them. There is a listing company that have a job bank service for a fee, one I use everyday and it has real listings with real jobs for anyone.

The phone number that came in my letter is at cell number listed
(306) 351-5848
Type: Cell Phone
Provider: Fido Solutions
Location: Regina, Sk, SK.,
the persons name is Tiffany Davis, at least that is what the letter states.
The other number is,
(267) 289-6471
Type: Land Line
Provider: Allegiance Telecom, Inc
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Please take note of this and do not get taken by these people. If you want to do Mystery Shopping and need a list just let me know. I have a proven list of real companies who I work with everyday.

First off, this fantasy that people have that they are going to go shop for the day and get paid for their time is stupid. We received hundreds of requests a day from people who wanted to be mystery shoppers. So, on any given day, if we needed say, 2 people in NYC to go do something, we would have a database of tens of thousands in that same area, wanting the same thing. What are the odds that YOU would be called? And if you were called, what do you think is going to happen? That you are going to get a check for your time spent shopping? Err, no. You would simply be reimbursed for what you spent. And the coveted restaurant "shops"...forget about it.... you have better odds of winning the lottery than getting one of those!
