I applied for and received my 3Bureau credit report with no problems only to find out "FREE" cost 39.95 charged to my card and the next month 79.95 was drawn off my account. That was 3/01.

After finding a charge of 79.95 from CIC Credit Monitoring SV ON my current statement I went over all my statements back to 3/01 and found charges of 79.95 at least twice a year and listed under 3 different companies all of which are ConsumerInfo.com. Every month they had a charge to my account I had checks bounce costing the 22.00 NSF fee +. After typing in CIC in search I'm amazed to find out consumerinfo.com is woven into everything you sign up for.

Have your Bank / Credit Card Assist you

#3Consumer Suggestion

Kenneth,

I would go to your Bank and talk with the Manager there, explain the situation, showing them your statements, as well as printing out everything about the company you can. Have the Bank write a letter stating that the charges did indeed take place, sign a notarized affidavit of fraud with your Bank, and have this sent via fax, email or registered letter to CIC. DO NOT let your bank tell you otherwise. If they try and bully you, saying they are not responsible to help, then tell them that you will just have to contact Office of the Comptroller of the Currency Compliance Managment, the Federal Reserve Board, and The Office of Thrift Managment to see what they have to say about it. Once you mention those names they may not give you any more problems about helping you in your quest. You may have to follow through with this in the event they still balk at helping you. If so, please contact the editors to contact me and I will get you the information you need.

I was told they had no record them billing me

I called the toll free number (1-888-888-8553) listed for CIC Credit Monitoring SV to try and get the most recent 79.95 refunded since it was the 2nd one drawn from my bank acct. this year. I was told they had no record them billing me in Sept. but only the one in March. They claim they have no way to tell if I was charged the second time because I had cancelled my membership (the one I had not signed up for or had authorized) was to fax them a copy of my bank statement so they could review it. -NOT- That is where conversation ended and no refund even in the picture.
