Complaint Review: ConsumerInfo.com

ConsumerInfo.com Never confirmed membership; charged me anyway Irvine Internet

There was an internet error when I signed up for this free credit report. I assumed that my information didn't go through and when I didn't receive an email receipt, it confirmed my assumptions. I never went back to their site, never obtained a credit report, and never cancelled the "membership," because according to my records, the transaction didn't occur. However, 30 days after the "free" trial period, the company charged me anyway. And when I called to dispute the claim? The supervisor took a nasty tone with me, wouldn't let me speak and ended up hanging up on me. Supposedly it says in the fine print that there are no refunds-- apparently, there is also no accurate record-keeping in this company, because, according to them, there was no internet error. When it's my word versus theirs, guess who wins?
