Complaint Review: ConsumerInfo.com Or CIC Credit Monitoring

I ordered what was suposed to be a FREE CREDIT REPORT from CIC Credit Monitors. To my surprise, about three weeks later my credit card was billed with a charge for $79.95. I never gave CIC my consent to automatically bill my credit card for any reason. In addition to this charge I have also been charged $1.00 fees every week since my initial request for a FREE CREDIT REPORT.
I have made several attempts to contact CIC to cancel my account with them and have received no confirmation from them as of yet. As of today, 1 March 2003, there is still a hold on my credit card for the $79.95 that has not been cleared. If you read this report spread the word. Do not let your friends get scammed by this company!
