Received a letter in the mail with a check for $3,500.  Claims I won a lottery for $50,500 and wants $2,500 to pay the IRS for taxes.  When the check is scanned, the "VOID" shows up and the $3,500 check is invalid.  They want you to send them the $2,500 for the IRS taxes but it goes directly to them.  You call a number to verify your winnings and name and they tell you where to send the $2,500 to an agent for payment of the IRS taxes.  They ask you if you want the balance of your money in a cashier's check, money order, or direct deposit.  They are just trying to get your bank account number.
