Consumers Energy allowed us to move into our home in 1997 and use a faulty meter that had been tampered with, told to us by technician who knew the tamperer's name and address, for 180 months. We had them here many many times to try to find leaks, bad appliances, etc. We had OSHA out and went through energy program with them. They change the names of their fees as it states on the bill and periodically remove some and add new ones.

They offered a $600 credit for 180 months of overcharge between 1.94% and 3% per month. According to last month's bill compared to same month last year, there is over 1000 kwh more on last year than last month, which is alot of money. We said $600 is about right for one to two months and to please times that by a few years and please come up with something better and more ethical and reasonable.

Today I found a shut off tag on my gate for the full amount. It is cold here, we have children, have an animal rescue and a farm.

Why can't they be ethical and do the proper thing? Why do they keep adding, removing, and changing names of fees? Why did they allow us to use a tampered with meter for 180 months?
