I originally called Continental Express, DBA Fast Lane Movers to get a quote on what it would cost to move approx. 3 miles. They were quick to respond and quoted a good price. I authorized them to do the move. THE BIGGEST MISTAKE of my life. They are nothing but a bunch of scam artist.

1st of all they showed up 4 hours late. When they FINALLY arrived they proceeded to wrap everything in boxes when all they really needed to do is us moving pads. They CHARGED me for those boxes.

They quoted me approximately $ 600.00 for the move and it ended up costing me $ 1.600.00. ( $ 1,000.00 FOR PACKING SUPPLIES )

If I did not pay them they were going to hold my possessions HOSTAGE.

THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF SCAM ARTIST!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to explain more about the story. But here are some comments first:

1. The $600 quote is based on the estimated number of hours. It doesn't come close to being anything resembling what the move will actually cost. In all likelihood, the packing materials didn't cost $1000 - the move took longer than what was estimated + the packing materials.

2. Packing materials are never included in a local move quote and are extra. When you use a full-service mover, the mover is responsible for using the materials to pack your goods without anything breaking, otherwise they're liable to you for a claim. Whether you think blankets would only be required is not your place.

3. Come back and tell us:

a. how many guys showed up?
b. what was the hourly rate?
c. how long did the move take?
d. transportation costs?

Finally, moving is not an inexpensive venture and choosing the cheapest mover often results in either the highest price or the most expensive in terms of cost in broken items, slow mover, etc...
