CONTINENTAL EXPRESS I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO ALL THE NEGATIVITY OF THIS COMPANY. RUN...DONT WALK AWAY SIDNEY, Ohio
Man I wish I would have listened. If you go to work for this company remember I did warn you. They have you sign a form in orientation that they can take 500.00 for not staying 90 days or giving a weeks notice. Of course it does not matter. They pay every week but they hold back 3 weeks and you will never see a dime of that money. They owed me close to 3000.00 and i received 249.00. They also charge you for every thing from a key to the paper they give you in orientation. They charge you for physical and drug test . Yet they only give you the card (Not the long fom) I started 10/12 and quit 11/12, and tried 5 other times to quit in the few weeks I worked there. They have Elogs but they put you on paper so you can run illegal. I would get a multi stop 300 mile run that would take 18 to 30 hours with no sleep. I only averaged 3 10hr breaks a week. And of course that would violate me so they wouldnt pay the tolls

Just wanted to clarify a few points in this complaint:
1. We do not hold 3 weeks pay from a new employee-- If Joe Smith Started Orientation today (2/3) he would not receive a check on 2/6 (we pay Fridays), On 2/13 He would receive a check for $500 (sign on bonus see point 2) on the 20th he would receive his first paycheck for the miles he ran from 2/3 thru 2/7 So thee is only a 2 week hold back (standard for a lot of companies) not a 3 week.
2. When a driver attends orientation he is informed that we will pay the sign on bonus now (1st check he gets see point 1) on the condition he remains employed by us for 90 days, he signs a contract agreeing he will stay for 90 days or that he will pay back his sign on bonus.
3. During Orientation we do have the driver sign a agreement that he will give us 5 days notice before leaving the company. If the driver fails to give us a 5 day notice, they are charged $500. This is explained up front to the driver. The reason for this fee is to help cover the cost of loads that need to be rescheduled, plus have to pay another driver to finish the load he is on.
4. Physical and Drug Testing is paid for by the company, If the driver leaves before 90 days, then yes this is charged back to them at the time of them leaving--We put good faith in hiring the driver and spending the money,
5. The other complaints, well we have all heard them time and time again and I will not address them
So the gentleman who decided to break his agreement with us by leaving before the 90 days- did pay back the $500.00 sign on bonus, as he agreed he would do (remember he signed an agreement ) and also the $500.00 for not giving notice (once again he signed agreeing he would not do this).
