After applying and being denied for a credit card with Chase, their Continental Credit Card, I recieved a phone call from Continental, and I had assumed that it was the Chase Continental, my mistake, they were not. The phone call originated from Toronto Canada. I was offered an unsecured CC for 2500.00, but I would need to pay upfront the first years fees which would total 329.80. I was told that within 7-10 days of our initial phone call on June 9th, 2004 that I would be receiving a package from them by fed-ex with paperwork for me to sign to recieve my CC.

I gave them all of my information and we made arrangements for my acct to be debited for the 329.80 on June 25th, 2004. On June 24th, 2004 they debited my acct, a day earlier then agreed, which I still had yet to receive my package from them.

When I tried to contact them they now told me that I would not recieve my package until 7-10 days after they received confirmation that they had indeed received the funds. On July 6th, 2004 they received confirmation that they had indeed received the funds. I am now being told that my package will not be being shipped out until their next shipping date, which they cannot tell me exactly when that it is, but it will be sometime at the end of July or early August. Once I recieve the package and send it back, it will take 10 days to process and then an additional 30 days for me to actually get my credit card.

It has been over a month since the original phone call, which is when I was told that within 7-10 days I would be recieving my package.

I have contacted the Canadian Better Business Bureau, which while I was on the phone with them I recieved another incoming call from another credit card company, I told them that I was not interested as I was now in the process of trying to recoup my monies or get my cc. The gentleman on the other end of the line asked me point blank, "Does the amount happen to be for $329.80?" I answered "Yes" His first words out of his mouth were "Its Continental, your not the only one who is having this problem."

As I stated I have contacted the BBB of Canada and am now in the process of contacting the Canadian Fraud Squad. Their number is 1-888-495-8501. Then I will be contacting the FTC, whose number is 1-877-438-4338.
I do have someother numbers for Continental, they are as follows: 1-514-849-3012, 514-849-0348, 514-849-3085, 514-849-1934.

Please folks be careful, 329.80 isnt a ton of money to some, but to me its 2 weeks of pay.

I just want my money back or the CC that they promised, I dont want to hear the run around anymore. If I was able to deliver the money to them in a timely fashion, a day earlier then originally agreed upon, then they should be able to deliver to me my CC as promised.
