Continental Warranty ripoff Internet
Continental Warranty is a Rip-off!! I cancelled my policy (Dec.14, 2005) w/in 5-20 minutes of reading similar complaints on this site. I was told to simply send a cancellation e-mail and the $490 charged to my VISA would be credited back. (An e-mail, from Continental Warranty, said my VISA would be credited within 2-3 weeks but possibly sooner.)
I returned any mail materials from them as "Refused".
I recorded numerous phone calls to them; I've kept all e-mails. I was finally told, 1 1/2 weeks ago, that the credit would appear on my VISA, no later than 1-13-06. It never happened.
I sent several e-mails, promising, not "threatening"--as Ms."Supervisor" rudely stated---to take legal action and/or post to this site and set up a website IF they did not refund this money. Ms. "Supervisor" said she "resented" my e-mails. And she is a supervisor?? Well, I resent the fact that I kept getting promises of a $490 refund, when today VISA says they haven't received it..despite the fact that Continental Warranty says they have sent it. (BUT they have said that before???)
And...I resent that Ms. "Supervisor" hung up on me, even though I not only didn't raise my voice, didn't use abusive language and in fact, had trouble getting a word in!
I resent the fact that I still do not have a refund, as of yet..and that it has taken me so long and so many calls, e-mails, etc. even to get a supervisor who does little more than repeat what I have heard before, says she resents threats (legal action, posting on the net??? Yikes...how horrible!) and hangs up on me...
So..BUYER's BEWARE..This is what could happen to YOU if you buy from Continental Warranty.. They stall and stall and stall to refund your money and then, tell you that they resent YOU! They tell you that your phone recordings are "inadmissable in court"...Nice, eh?? Document, document, document (e-mails, recordings), regardless!
Would you buy a warranty from this company?? Don't!
