Complaint Review: Continuous Improvement Construction

 Contractor was hired to build a relatively small addition. Four months later, the job is still not done. From the start, this contractor did things his way not ours. He was very unhappy when we pointed out mistakes he had made. He had promised to be on-site most of the time to supervise but rarely showed-up. He wanted more than 25% of the estimate just to get started. This should have been a warning about what was to come. The small crew was very loud and disruptive. They worked very slowly when unsupervised, which was most of the time. Several serious mistakes were made and not yet corrected. The contractor wants even more money just to fix what he did wrong to begin with. This is the real rip-off. He decided he "forgot" to include some crucial work in his bid and wanted over $4k to do it. This was in mid-project and was a very unpleasant surprise. Imagine, you are in a competitive bid situation, one of the bidders wins, in part, because their bid is lower than another, then they come to you, well into the project, and "oops", "we forgot"... that will be $thousands more. Rip-off deluxe. The screw-ups are really too numerous to mention, yet the contractor still expects to get paid for the mistakes plus. Run, do not walk away from this company.
