Mr. John H. Wood, IV (aka Junior) is a crook, thief, and shyster. His father is no better and as they say, apples don't fall far from the tree. Junior is a former Pontiac Police Officer that was discharged for using excessive force. Although he was acquitted, he is guilty. I know -- I was there. After the State of Michigan sued Mr. Wood for Assault with intent to use great bodily harm in 1997, he then decided to sue the City of Pontiac in 2007 for wrongful discharge. The City of Pontiac settled out of court, and the proceeds Junior received were used to start his outfit called Contractual Security Services and Investigations, also known as CSSI. The company was put in John Wood Seniors name, since a fired police officer can't have a security company in his own name.

Mr. Wood has a history which includes fellow officers not trusting him or wanting anything to do with him, numerous PPO's filed against him from former lovers, numerous lawsuits, and truly a classless individual who only cares about his own pocketbook. He had extra-marital affairs with his ex-best friend's wife, also known as Chasity Lambert. He has a temper and caviar taste but is either too cheap or lives above his means, with the latter being the conclusion of these authors.

This individual does not know how to successfully run a company. He is reactive and during his tirades of senselessness, acts extremely unprofessional and delusional. Recently, he had his brother-in-law Rick Zalewski draft a non-compete agreement for all of his current employees to sign. He is demanding that these 7 page documents be signed, although he is providing no other consideration of value for employees who have already been working for him for months and even years. The contract is therefore unenforceable and any intelligent individual would know this and see that this is another smoke and mirror tactic being done by the infamous John Wood Junior. He has threatened to fire employees who refuse to sign this non compete agreement, which is another tactic and invitation to sue. He has genuinely offered his brother-in-law Rick Zalewski to explain the contract to current employees of the company that refuse to sign, orally promising that certain clauses would not be enforced by John Wood Junior, CEO of this fine organization should voluntary termination happen in the future. Rick Zalewski doesn't even have a law degree. However, when asked to speak with the attorney that supposedly drafted the agreement, no invitation has been extended by either of these characters.

You have been warned and should consider this fine character crazed and delusional. He was ousted from the Police Department and should you ever hope to use his name to get out of a traffic ticket, it just may wind you up arrested and thrown in jail. :o)

I was also a slave driver for this palce. I paid full price for new uniforms that were actually used had holes. You are sent to Hubbards a local military supply place for your equipment and owner gets cut of the action. Protocol for some accounts were 4 guards but he always staffed them with 2. That equals more money in his pocket. He can't keep accounts. This guy is a first class piece of you know what and a snake. Thank god I don't slave drive anymore. I'd rather gouge my eye balls out then work here. What a sweat shop.

False information by a disgruntled former employee

     First of all let me first say, It is not in my character to even respond to such conjecture! But as you can see I have no choice when sites like the Rip-off Report hold you hostage. Obviously we have a disgruntled employee here, or as I like to describe him. A maladjusted sociopath with a deeply manifested anger issue.  M is Raphael Miguel Hofmann of Holly Michigan and worked for CSSI for a little over 2 weeks before being terminated. Apparently this is his way of getting back at us for whatever wrongful deed it is that, he feels, we have done to him.

As I would like to set the record straight, I would like to inform you that I agree 100% with The Rip-off Reports adage of free speech by the common man. What I do not agree with is that unconfirmed information or information that has been presented without proof or merit can be posted without supporting documentation..given that, I could post anything I want about anyone or any entity without fear of the consequences. What Mr. Hofmann has posted is slanderous, libel, and deprives me and my company of our true character. What is my recourse? Yes, I could bring civil litigation to the table and most likely be awarded damages. I may also be able to obtain some sort of Cease and Desist order against similar acts of sabotage by this deranged individual. What it boils down to, is that Mr. Hofmann has not a pot to piss in, and I would rather invest my time and energy on positive items that are needed to build and grow my business.

With that said, lets jump into the Meat and Potatoes of this rebuttal. Also, where supporting documentation can be provided I have provided it to The Rip-off Report and I hope that they have included it.

     First of all, yes I was a former Police Officer with the City of Pontiac and I was terminated over an incident that occurred back in 1996 where 2 arrested subjects accused me and two other police officers of excessive force. It was a highly publicized incident and I was tried and acquitted by a Jury in the 6th Circuit court of Michigan. I was then reinstated by the City of Pontiac, paid all of my back wages and then continued my employment until 2007 where I vested my time of 16 years and retired to start my security business. I also field civil suits against the 2 individuals that made the false allegations, and the City of Pontiac, and I prevailed. Now, unfortunately I cannot provide any information or post a copy of my award as proof, as I had entered and signed a confidentiality agreement with all parties involved and agreed to terms of a non-disclosure. You can, however, access that information on your own volition by going to the link that Mr. Hoffman provided in his original post.

     Second, Contractual Security Services and Investigations, LLC is owned and operated by me. I am the President and CEO. I have provided a copy of my Registration with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth (now known as LARA) and the Bureau of Commercial Services. I have also provided a copy of my security license that was given to me from the State of Michigan. As you can clearly see, it is I, John H. Wood IV and not John Wood III that holds this license. I filed the original paperwork to obtain said licensing from its conception and I am still its original owner and operator to this day. This is obviously a lack of candor of Mr. Hofmann (that means its a lie)

     Third, Mr. Hofmanns statement that Mr. Wood has a history of fellow officers not trusting him, numerous PPOs (that means personal protection orders) and lawsuits is also something I contest. Who are these fellow officers that distrust me? Back in the day, we all looked out for each other and we were a Brotherhood, there was camaraderie and still to this day I have contact with my former officers. If there is someone specific that is being referred too.please name them, so that I can offer my rebuttal. Next, there have never been numerous Person Protection Orders issued against me. I did go through a bitter divorce with a former spouse and she did obtain an order out of spite. She then dropped it after our attorneys spoke and we settled things amicably. As for lawsuits being filed against me, there may have been when I was working as a police officer. We as police officers were constantly being sued or named in suites by the individuals that we arrested. I, just as you, would have to pull up the docket history of whatever court Mr. Hofmann is referring too. In many instances the City of Pontiac is sued and we as officers are named. Sometimes we are sued personally. This is not only a lack of candor on Mr. Hofmann but also what we call embellishing the facts at hand.

     Forth, Mr. Hofmanns statement that He had extra marital affairs with his ex-best friends wife, also known as Chasity Lambert is totally false. Chasity Lambert is my wife and we met at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio over 12 years ago, she was married once before and that was to an individual in California (that was a Navel officer) that was no way related to one of my coworkers. This too is not only a lack of candor of Mr. Hoffman but a bold faced lie in which he has slandered me and my wife.

     Fifth, Mr. Hoffman states that I do not know how to successfully run a company and that I am extremely unprofessional and delusional. Well Raphael, I am not the one off my Meds and my financial records speak for the company itself. Since CSSIs inception in 2007 we have tacked solid growth and have been extremely viable. We have seen 100%  to 500% increases from year to year and according to last years P & L we once again doubled what we did in overall revenue from the previous year.  We now operate in 3 states, have a GSA rating and employee retention is the highest it has ever been. We created 65 full time jobs last year, in addition to our current staff, and we hired 55 more just in this first quarter of 2012 alone. This too is not only a lack of candor of Mr. Hoffman but a bold faced lie in which he has slandered me and my company.

     In addition, Mr. Hoffman Makes the accusation that a sales associate of the company drafted a non- compete agreement for all employees to sign. This non-compete was in fact drafted by our attorney Scott Erskine of the Erskine Law Group located in Rochester, Michigan. It is a standard agreement that is used in the business. No employees were ever threatened with termination for not signing it, in fact those employees that had raised questions or concerns were addressed by having them refer to subsection thirteen:

13.      Application for Modification of Waiver:
If, after termination of your employment, you believe that any provision of this agreement is not reasonable for protecting our legitimate interests in connection with your contemplated conduct, you may apply to us in writing for a discretionary modification or waiver of such provision.  If you embark on conduct that violates this agreement without making such a written application, you shall have no right to object later to the reasonableness or enforcement of its terms.  To be effective, any modification or waiver by us must be in writing signed by our Company President.
 
Those employees that required further explanation were advised to contact Mr. Zalewski so that they could be scheduled to meet as a group and voice their concerns with me. All employees signed the agreement and several have even gone on to work for other security companies. I, as an owner and operator, have held it to my discretion not to hold them to the non compete portion because they were employees in good standing and are only trying to better themselves in the profession. I have also confirmed employee verifications from the competing companys human resource departments without dispute. Furthermore, no one has ever inquired as to whom our corporate attorney is nor have they asked to speak with him directly.

     As for the remainder of Mr. Hofmanns disgruntled rants. he is perfectly entitled to his opinion. As stupid and disillusioned as that may be, this individual does have the right to his free speech. However, I do have a problem with his untruthfulness, lack of candor, and misrepresentation of the facts. Deprivation of ones character through slanderous and libel statements and remarks just may land you in hot water
 
In closing I am going to attach as much documentation that I have on hand to support my rebuttal to this posting. I certainly hope it is posted as well and that the Rip-off Report retracts the incorrect information that was posted by Mr. Hofmann.
