We received in the mail today a collection demand for $408.00 that is suppose to be a charge from Pay Pal. We have never used Pay Pal and we never would. If there is anyway to notify the Attorney General and put these scammers in jail we would help.

The category box on the previous page did not pertain to us but would not let us continue unless we chose one. So disregard what we clicked on.

I can understand how frustrating getting something like that is. But you need to consider that you may have been the victim of identity theft. Normally identity theft is perpatrated by someone close enough to you to get relevant information. A freind or neighbor. Possibly a family member. This is often the case with family members that have a beef with another family member. Open up a few accounts in their name, spend until they feel a good amount has been reached. Sit back and watch the fireworks show.

If the account is in your name, you should be able to get ahold of paypal and find out whats going on. You may be able to find where products were shipped. If they had been ordered in your name. You then need to file a police report. Idnetity theft is VERY serious. It has long reaching effects that can effect you far into the future. It can keep you from refinancing or buying a vehicle. It can keep you from certain jobs and some places to rent a place to stay.

If youre lucky enough to find the person who may have commited identity theft, if its a family member, DO NOT DISCUSS IT WITH ANY OTHER FAMILY MEMBER!!! No need to tip them off. Secondly, DO NOT TAKE PITY ON THEM SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE FAMILY!!! If a family member did do it, let them swing for their crime. They took no pity on you when they commited the act. Take none on them.

Lastly, get your information security in order. Obviously the information was captured. Its up to you to find out how. I would suggest that you IMMEDIATLY get new credit cards/debit cards. You may even need to close out and reopen your bank account. Buy a shredder. Remove ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM YOUR COMPUTER!! These steps should help secure your ID while you fight this.
