Complaint Review: Goran Markovic

Partners in crime- Australian convicted criminal Goran MARKOVIC, with the help of his UK partner Nicola PENNY, subjected me to an extremely abusive and sadistc scam last year in Europe.  I came across this criminal when I was staying at a hostel in Florence, Italy.  He quickly befriended me, being a fellow Australian, and told me how he was holidaying with his partner and daughter when his documents, passport, credit cards etc were stolen.  He was waiting on replacement documents etc.  He started telling me he worked as a helicopter pilot in New South Wales, and did work for ASIO (Australian Secret Intelligence Organization) and Interpol as an Interpol Investigator.  He showed me documents to prove this and I overheard conversations with his ASIO boss.  He also said he was a colonel in the RAAF and an ex-RAAF pilot.

When he realized I had a lot of money in savings, he targeted me for a very abusive and sadistic scam that was so traumatic that it brought me close to a nervous breakdown and suicide in Europe last year. The scam started when he invited me along to Brussels as he had a secret operation to do for ASIO.  This operation he did went wrong, and we were now being pursued by dangerous criminals from an international crime gang.  We started living as fugitives moving from one hotel to another, from one country to another in Europe.  Within a few weeks of the first assignment he went off to do another assignment for ASIO that was more disastrous.  This involved the American secret service who were now pursuing us in addition to dangerous criminals.  He staged events, phone calls, documents and emails to convince me that what he was saying was true.  He also starting abusing me- physically, sexually and mentally.  He forced my cooperation by threatening my life, intimidating me and continually abusing me.  Every day I lived in fear of my life. He deprived me of my liberty many times when I tried to leave.  He refused to return my credit cards and car keys (he has stolen my car that I bought in the UK) and is still driving it somewhere in Europe.  I was frequently told that my phone calls, text messages, emails were under constant surveillance as was I.  He cut me off from family and friends and threatened me to not say anything.  I was told that I would never leave Europe without his help.  

As the months went by, my situation became worse.  He frequently left me saying he had to meet other agents or organize documents.  I was left for days or weeks at a time with no money for food or accommodation.  I slept in the street or in my car (when he had given it back to me and he was using rental cars).  Often I went 5 days or more without food.  I sold some of my belongings to be able to eat.  My mental and physical health deteriorated to the point that I was constantly close to a breakdown and suicide.  Many times I looked for a way to kill myself.  He kept me in a continual state of fear, disorientation and confusion and played many sick manipulative games with me.  

Since returning home to Australia I have found out that he is a convicted criminal in Australia and Serbia involving fraud related offences and has been imprisoned many times for his crimes.  He is also wanted by the Australian Federal Police who have warrants out for his arrest in many states here.  He probably has warrants out for his arrest in Europe too.  He fled Australia around 2000 and has been operating in the UK and Europe.  The Dutch police told me of a long list of complaints against Goran Markovic of similar "spy" scams he has used with other victims.  Other aliases include Guy Matthews, Scott Billinger and Adrian Albert Basile.  He is illegal in Europe with no valid visa and uses fake passports (one of them being in the name of Adrian Albert Basile).  Goran MARKOVIC is also aided in his scams by his partner, UK citizen Nicola PENNY who knowingly and willingly receives stolen money and assists him.  I have since found out that Nicola PENNY brought their daughter over at least 3 times (that I know of) during the 7 month scam that was done to me last year.  Whilst I was left to starve and live on the streets of Europe in a continual state of fear and trauma, he and his partner lived it up at expensive hotels in Europe with their 4 year old daughter. 

I believe Goran MARKOVIC is a seriously disturbed and dangerous psychopath and pathological liar who is capable of doing anything to steal his victim's money.  The Australian Federal Police consider him to be dangerous.  He is a professional criminal fraudster who is very convincing at what he does.  I suspect there are many victims in the UK and Europe.  I know of many victims in Australia.  Goran MARKOVIC also does other scams such as selling fake Qantas tickets and Australian visas, as well as pretending to be a builder.  To date, he is somewhere in Europe looking for more victims and driving my car.  For anyone who comes across him he is about 5 feet 9, very thin, blue eyes, very short grey hair, rotten teeth, angular face with a pointy nose and a tattoo on his right forearm.  He is fluent in English, Serbian and German.  He is a chain smoker and addicted to over the counter pain killers.  Please call the local police and ask them to contact the Australian Federal Police.
