Complaint Review: Coolest Cooler-Ryan Greppler

Coolest Cooler-Ryan Greppler I backed them in 2014 in Kickstarter-they took my money and I have never received a cooler.

I backed them in 2014, they collected my money and never sent me a cooler. Last update from the was Mar 2018. There is no way to talk to anyone in person. I have searched everywhere. My neighbor ordered one on Amazon and got his cooler in 3 days. He has not followed through even with his update saying we would getting quarterly updates.

Hello Coolest Backers, 

After a rough 2017 we're excited to share some optimism for 2018. 

Our three big struggles from last year are summarized below, along with why the future is looking brighter: 

We’ve shipped over 40,000 Coolest Coolers to Backers, however we still have 20,121 Backers left to make and ship. This means we need to generate profits of an additional $2.5-3 million dollars to meet this obligation. Frankly this isn’t going to magically happen in our time frame without more hard work, successful marketing, and without more than one product to sell. 

We’ve doubled down on what made the Coolest Cooler successful in the first place and that’s capital-I Innovation. This means in the coming months we’ll be introducing new Coolest products, as well as upgrades and options for existing Coolest Coolers. 

How are we able to do this?

The legacy pricing structure with our original contract manufacturer has finally expired and our new factory believes in us and the product. Their help has brought down the cost to make every Coolest Cooler, and their expertise and support is helping bring our new products to life. New products and better margins will help generate the profits we need to more quickly ship more Backer units.

Last year we spent way too much time, energy and resources dealing with a relatively small handful of DOJ complaints. While we completely recognize how frustrating it is to wait this long for every Reward to ship, the upside is that this is now behind us. The resolution agreement in place confirms our path of selling more products to raise the extra money to meet our Backer obligations is the right one. The DOJ agreement specifies three years to get this done. We’re pulling out every stop to try to finish in two. 

Ongoing Updates:

Our Q4 financials showed that while holiday sales were up from last fall, we did not generate a profit as the inventory sold was still purchased at the high legacy pricing. We don’t expect any significant changes until the new inventory arrives in late spring.

I know it’s been a while since our last Kickstarter-sent update, however moving forward we’ll share only an annual big-picture updates on the Kickstarter wall. We’ll continue sharing quarterly Backer shipment updates with those of you who are still unfulfilled through direct emails. We all wish every Backer had their Coolest Cooler by now, but since they don’t it’s our job to work our asses off get this done. Our hearts and minds and hands are still strong and focused. We hope you’ll take away that we're still persistently hard at work so everyone who supported this project can enjoy more time outside with family and friends with the product they helped bring to life.
