I was reading thru some of the rip offs posted on this site and sure enough the circumstances of many are very similar to mine.

I was invited to attend a 90 minute overview of the Resort and went for the tour with my salesman (AL Day) beware, what a conman! I too premised the purchase of their unit on the sale of an existing unit that I had and wanted to liquidate, they promised me $20,000 for my unit but wrote up the contract showing a value of $12,000 for my unit. This entire sale was based upon the Resort taking my trade as down payment, and my wife and I were very clear that this was the only way that we could afford to purchase in there development, we where told rest assured that worst case scenario we would be whole at $12,000.00 down payment after 60 days of marketing with their well established resale company with our traded unit and we could then pay the balance off in full or finance at a ridiculous % rate of 17%. The only reason that we agreed was that they guaranteed the $12,000 for our trade and we could then pay the balance off in full not being subjected to the 17% finance charges. Their brokering Company Resorts Solutions Inc. must be in bed with them because we couldn't even so much as get a return phone call back from them in efforts to see what we could get for our unit should we have decided to wholesale the unit just to make this deal happen.

My wife and I tried many times to resolve thru the Corporate Office but unsuccessfully. They have since foreclosed on my unit ruining my credit and stiffing me for my deposit which I feel as though I was con'd out of under false pretentences.

If they can pull off this scam by just 3 sales people per day every month than they are able to scam people like you and me for a monthly gross profit of $210,000.00. Then turn them back to the developer and resell them over and over.

Buyer Beware: I love Hilton Head Island, I plan on continuing to vacation there for many years to come but please learn from my own and other's mistakes, STAY AWAY FROM CORAL RESORTS / ISLAND LINKS / CORAL REEF / PORT O CALL / CORAL SANDS, THEY ARE ALL REPRESENTED BY THE SAME SALES GROUP, AND BELIEVE ME THEY ARE SMOOTH, DECEPTIVE, UNFAIR, AND PRACTICE UNBELIEVABLY DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES!

MANY Victims of Coral -- Recommend Using Forums

#2Consumer Comment

Fri, August 12, 2011

My family was ripped off by Coral too.  It's not important to tell "our story", since it mirrors most of the complaints on this site.  However, this site seems to be weak with respect to allowing consumers (i.e. victims) to contact one another.  All we can do is respond with similar complaints.  Well, that failure to communicate with one another directly puts all of us at a disadvantage.  We need to "compare notes", etc.  I use TUGBBS.  I'm not a paying member.  I recommend consumers use such forums, so they can establish communication, and begin to plan some sort of action.
