First let me start off saying I am a veteran of the USMC and  a volunteer firefighter & first responder. I believe in doing the right thing and working hard for everything you want. With that being said the lack of integrity in the sales team, management, and owner services at Coral Sands to be disgusting. I hope people will read this before making the mistake of trusting this company with their hard earned money.

My girlfriend and I have two daughters and decided to purchase a timeshare at Coral Sands for us to use as a family. We did the tour and liked the facility and location and our salesman, "Capt. Jack" as he called himself, seemed nice enough. My girlfriend and I were discussing which of the two weeks we wanted to buy and aske Capt Jack what the benefit of each week was.  It was during his sales presentation that he told us that one of the timeshares he was selling had just been put on the market and the previous/current owner had already paid the Maintenance fees for 2015, 2016, and 2017 in January of this year (2015) while the other still required this maintenance fee to be paid.  With all other things equal y girlfriend and I bought the timeshare with the maintenance fees paid; it was ~$1000 we didn't have to spend.

Two months later I received a bill in the mail for the maintenance fees for 2015, 2016, 2017. I figured this was just a paperwork error and called coral sands to have this corrected. I was transferred to owner services where I spoke to Lauren. She told me in a very condescending manner that they do not recognize any agreements the salesman makes in the presentation or after and that "I have a contract that says I owe them money". I asked her to specify where this was stated in my contract and she just gave me an attitude and was absolutely unprofessional. Lauren even hung up on me when I asked to he transferred to the sales manager.

I called again and spoke with Brittney. I asked for the sales department and /or the sales manager and Brittney, who was just as rude as Lauren, told me the sales team did not have phones and never would. I asked for her manager and she told me it was Lauren, the same lady who had just hung up on me. Lauren went as far as to claim very loudly that I called her a name (as to make sure someone in her office heard) and then hung up on me.

I am now being threatened with fines, loss of usage rights and additional fees if I do not pay these fees. I will be looking for an attorney and will be contacting the local media. I have made a complaint to the federal trade commission and the Better Business Bureau.
