This supposed investment opportunity-to own land or purchase homes/condominiums is a RIPOFF. I toured the property in May 2007- and everything seemed fine. I put down a deposit and was told it would be a few months before pricing was established and a "priority list" started. (you know the line-get in early when the deal is better). I was told the deposit was fully refundable but needed to get on the priority list.

It has now been over 17 months and I have not heard from them. Tried to e-mail a couple of times and received no respnse. Finally sent a demand for the return of the deposit. Their response was- the deposit is only refundable if they could not provide clear title to the land. Soooooo- they are saying I'm stuck with purchasing the property-at whatever price it may be-or I forfeit the deposit!!

Since that time I did some checking on the charachters-Mr. Chris Canzano and Evonne Eckenroth. Seems they have been and are now in Federal litigation for Securities Fraud. So they may not be the best people you want to do business with. This is a warning to anyone looking at this development in Costa Rica!! I'd like to hear from any others who may have similar expereince with this group.

UPDATE-NO Lawsuit against Canzano & Eckenroth

Hi all. Just want to set the record straight. After further investigation and a phone conversation with Mr. Canzano and Ms. Eckenroth; I stand corrected. It appears that the lawsuit in question has been dismissed and Mr. Canzano and Ms. Eckenroth have been exhonarated. They are really wonderful people and do care about the project in Costa Rica. Like everyone times have been a little tough-but they are doing their best to keep the project going and make it a magnificient vacation and/or second home destination. I became a little agitated over the return of the deposit-but that has been worked out. It all stems from a misunderstanding and some long distance miscommunication. Although I have chosen to withdraw from the project (mostly due to my own fianacial difficulties at the present time) I would love to visit the property in the future and see Mr. Canzano's and Ms. Eckenroth's vision for the property materialize.
