I purchased several bottles of what was advertised as Salba from IHerb in June of 2008. Several of the bottles were from lot number EPOHOGZ distributed by Core Naturals Salbausa.

In October I planted a 25' row of the seed near Fortuna, Costa Rica. When the plants began to flower it became apparent they were chia plants and not Salba as Salba plants have white flowers and chia have purple flowers.

I realize both plants are strains of Salvia Hispanica L. and there may be very little nutritional difference but the current premium on Salba over common light colored chia is significant.

When I contacted Mitch Propster he was willing to return my money for any unused product but claims I must be mistaken. I still have several sealed jars from the same lot number in addition to the ones I tested and the ones currently being grown at the local University.

My main purpose of this complaint is to alert others who are paying a significant premium for Salba that they too may be getting scammed. I would also like this company forced out of their fraudulent business practise.
