The nurses they sent to our home to care for our disable son did not speak good english; you had to constantly repeat instructions.  Most of the people they sent to our home were of the same race origin as those in the company office. In one particular incident, the girl they sent out was disable herself--she spoke english but had serious back injuries.  In a second situation, they sent someone who had a partially, paralized arm and struggle to sit our son up.  In another incident, I communicated and made it very clear for them not to come to our home when they were ill.  Again, the communication played an huge problem because they still showed up at our place with a cold and got our son sick.  This happened twice with same nurse.  And to make things worse, that same nurse poked our son in the eye with her long nails and we had to take him to hospital because he had gotten a bacteria infection.  In one case, a girl did not have a baby siter so she brought her kids to our place and had them sit in hot car--which I did not know until I got home.  I must admith though, I do not blame the quality of work on their workers but on the office staff because, first of all, they have them travel 30 miles one way and do not compensate for their travel time as well as their wear and tear on their vehicles--and they pay them at a very low scale.  Most nurses do not want to work with this organization because they do not get their pay on time and the excuse is that they (nurses) did not turn in their paper work, so they come back to us to have it refilled.  In another incident, I came home to fine a nurse on the phone in the living room and my son half way off the bed and could have fallen on the floor if I had not gotten their on time.  These complaints are not new.  I have yet to find a health care agency who has quality nurses who trully care about helping a disable child.  Parent are difficult and have to be tough and, sometimes, it is misread as overbearing.  That is not the case.  If you promise quality care, then you need to pay quality dollar to get quality production from those who have a difficult job of caring for the disable.  And by they way, my wife, too, is disable.  And in many cases and times, I have had to miss work because they did not show up and my wife was too sick to care for our son.
