I applied for a credit card and was approved with only $250 credit limit, and only $75 on it and there was a annual fee , monthly fee, new member fee,and fee for 2nd credit card so wasn't to much to spend. I spent what was available then paid twice what was left on. I then receive my monthly statement saying I owed so much and I didn't understand when I paid a good amount to cover the charges I made and then some money to have left over. I called the bank up and told them I wanted to file a fraud report and they said they would send the papers for me to fill out , and I never received after a month, I called again for the papers and they said the same thing I will be sending out the fraud affidavit which I never received and the third time I called , one lady said she didn't see any information saying there was a fraud affidavit sent to us at all. So I tried to talk to one of the supervisor about it all they said it was a simple mistake and we will receive one soon. Finally after 6 months of waiting I finally received it, filled it out sent it back and recieved a letter saying that the charges couldn't be proven because the card was in our possesion still, when it happen. I told the lady we had two credit cards issued and we only received one so the other credit somebody stole it and used it obvoisly and she said we didn't state we had two credit cards. We paid for two only received one and now we are paying out of our pockets. We decided not to pay and while the case was be investagetd we were not obligated to pay that is what the back of statement said. So we went months with out using the credit card and with out paying it. Later they come back reporting to the credit bureau saying we were 90 days late. We went to apply for a mortgage loan and were denied because of this one incedent. The only way we can get a loan now is with a letter from the bank saying they were wrong and we can then get a home with that nasty report of my credit! I am still paying on it now because I am scared what else they will do to my credit. So please help me.
